Dancing Harmony (featured in art exhibit, catalog, and 3 newspaper)

acrylic, 16" x 20" canvas

This painting was made to represent a great symphony, Scheherazade performed by the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. My painting was inspired by the strong and dramatic music of the Festival of Baghdad, the voice of the Sultan himself, and the smooth and relaxing violin solos. I decided to add a little touch of Middle Eastern culture in my decoration on the accessories on the elephant, which symbolized the deep rhythm of the music as well as the story line and culture that the music originated from. The background reflected the fluidity and power of the piece of music.

The painting was displayed at the Princeton Richardson Auditorium, the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, as well as on the annual program brochure for the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. It was also featured in two local newspapers, the Montgomery Sun and the Princeton Packet.
