Catch of the Day (National Winner and Incorporated into the Award Certificate, Animal in Action Art Contest)

The inspiration for this picture came from a family trip to Alaska. The colorful tundra, the blonde grizzly bear, the river, as well as the coho salmon all came from an experience in Denali National Park. Most of the picture was done in color pencil, however, I applied a little bit of acrylic to create the rushing water effect. This picture was selected as one of 18 national winners, and incorporated into the award certificate as shown below.
